Music Studio Policies

1. Teaching Schedule 📅

• The schedule is flexible. Call 📞 or Message 📱 Nancy before starting a lesson.

• Lessons should be taken once or twice a week. Rarely once per two weeks.

• All lessons should be arranged on the same day 📆 same time ⌚ each week. 

• No free trial lesson🤔.  

 

2. Tuition Fees 💰

• Tuition fees for lessons are paid by month.

• Payment is due in cash or via e-transfer before the 1st lesson of each month.

• Discounts are offered for students who pay once for 15 more lessons.

• Tuition fees may increase each year in order to approximately keep pace with inflation.

 

3. Attendance 🏃‍♀️

1) Illness 🤒:

• Please do not attend your lesson if you are sick or have any cold/flu/gastro symptoms or have received a positive covid test result in the last 7 days. Online lessons via ZOOM are offered for these instances.

• Please inform Nancy if you want the lesson cancelled or conducted via ZOOM by message or call at least 2 hours before lesson time. Otherwise missed lessons will not be refunded. 

2) School activities & Holiday 🥳:

• Please inform Nancy if you have other activities in conflict with your music lessons 1 day before the lesson time. Otherwise missed lessons will not be refunded. 

3) Parent Attendance 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦:

• Parents are encouraged to observe their child's music lessons. However, it is not mandatory that you attend the lesson unless your child is 5 years of age or younger.

😱Missed lessons: fees are not refundable.

😅Make-up lessons: Please discuss a new make-up time with Nancy. Or postpone the lesson to next week.

 

4. In-class 📝

1) Arrival 🏃‍♂️:

• Students need to arrive on time. Late lessons will not be made up.

2) Behaviour 👍:

• Students must be polite to everyone. No violence and brutal language and behaviour.

3) Clean 🚯:

• Students and family members must remove their shoes 👞 before entering the studio.

• Students must keep their hands clean 💦 before starting to play an instrument.

• No food 🚫 in the studio.

 

5. Practice 🎹🎻🪕🎸🎺🎷🥁🎤📯🎵🎶🎼

• All students are asked to spend time practicing their instrument for at least 5 days a week. The amount of time spent on practice each day will be agreed between Nancy and the students.

• Parents must supervise children as much as possible.

• Theory lesson students are expected to finish weekly homework before starting the next lesson.

 

6. Music Books & Materials 📔📕📖📗📘📙📚📓📒📃📜

• Students must prepare music books themselves before starting their first lesson.

• Piano Students must have a full-size (88 keys) keyboard/piano🎹for daily practice.
